Saarinen’s architecture meets Korab’s lens

Balthazar Korab, 1926-2013 – Slide Show – NYTimes.com.

Was looking at Balthazar’s amazing work and thinking about the capacity for photography to really capture a particular spatial sense. I think he amplifies the buildings he shoots into a new zone of perceptual reality/experience. And with a nod to Australia Day yesterday – the Sydney Opera house show below is another favourite:

    Check out the new book about him that came out last year. His is a marvelous story of architecture and photography!
